 Motivational Techniques and Problem Solving

Motivational Techniques

Learn motivational techniques to engage the young dog in the learning process or to make training fun again for the experienced dog. Structure your training sessions so that the dog gets enjoyment from them. Learn how to more effectively use jackpots and training games to achieve and maintain an enthusiastic working dog.

Problem Solving

Bridget will assist working teams with their training problems based on the information provided by working teams in their pre-work questionnaire, as well as her assessment at the seminar. The goal of this seminar is to give each working team several solutions to take home.

NEW PDTA Rule – Private and Group Lessons and Renting A Ring – This new rule applies.

NEW RULE:

Whether you are taking a private lesson, utilizing a ring rental or participating in a group class this new rule applies.

If you move or use equipment DO NOT take apart the high jump (solid jump). If you move it, pick it up or slide it across the floor. However, do not attempt to slide it across the floor with only the 4-inch board installed. Add a higher board to add structure to the jump before sliding.

If you move a high jump, move it back inside the ring before you leave.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jeannine Rash at papillon4@yahoo.com

Reminder; Show & Go, Saturday, August 6th

Hopefully you are planning to join PDTA at our last match before the obedience trial at the end of the month. Doors will be unlocked/opened at 8:30 am. Jean Harvey will be handling the registration table. Be ready to sign-up through novice/beginner novice. Each run/dog is $8; checks and cash accepted.
Classes begin at 9 am with Utility and Open. Novice and Beginner Novice will begin in the first available ring. Time is TBD.
Also, we need help – please sign up at the registration table to help for an hour or two. If you volunteer for 2 hours, you earn a FREE run.
